This week, Parks in Focus launched its second summer community initiative in Flint, Michigan to introduce 20 Boys & Girls Club youth to local parks through digital photography.
The Flint program, initiated in 2012, represents a unique partnership between Parks in Focus, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Flint and University Outreach at the University of Michigan – Flint. Through a series of day trips and weekend outings, each youth participant will spend more than 100 hours outside learning about nature, taking photographs and recreating in local parks and natural areas within an hour of Flint [see complete schedule below].

July 10 & 12: Seven Lakes State Park
July 13-15: Camp-Out @ Bay City State Recreation Area
July 17 & 19: Photo Lab @ UM-Flint
July 21: Family Outing @ Holly Recreation Area
The Flint Parks in Focus program is being supported by the Udall Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Flint, and University Outreach at the University of Michigan-Flint. Additional program support is being provided by Michigan State Parks and REI Michigan.
